Bedroom

The photo to the left shows the room before I was finished.

The room really seemed to become more warm and cozy, once I added the window treatments, the pictures on the walls (Renoir 'paintings'), and a quilt rack with a quilt.

I chose Mission-Style furniture for the bedroom, which I designed and built by myself. I also made the bedding. I made sheets with piped edges, pillows with seperate pillow cases, and a blanket with satin binding. I embroidered the "Lone Star" quilt for the bed. I even wove a rug for the floor.

The quilt rack is a gift from my Canadian friend, Eleanor. I made the quilt on the quilt rack by using the computer to draw a design. I printed the front of the quilt on muslin, then quilted it by hand-stitching the front to the back. (Check out Wilma's instructions for printing on fabric. The method that I used is described very well by Wilma.)
